FREE! Six weeks of educational summer fun at Camp Nawakwa in Biglerville!

June 24-Aug 2.
Mon-Thurs, 9am-1pm. No camp Fridays or on July 4th.

Bus transportation provided in each school district; pick-up begins at 8 am and drop-off ends at 2 pm.

Open to 4th-8th grade students in these school districts: LASD, CVSD, FASD, BSSD, UASD (also open to the HPMS.)

SO’S TAEKWONDO SUMMER CAMP

Ages 6-12

One-week camps from June 3 through August 16th

7:30 am – 4 pm

$169/wk + field trip admission costs ($139/wk before June 3. Additional discounts available.)

So’s Taekwondo’s program is a go-to for children who need a positive environment to learn.

Weekly camps offer:
Learning themes, (e.g. goal setting), quiet activities, Taekwondo, active games, arts & crafts (e.g. Paper Fortune Cookies, Martial Arts Figure, Tree of Good Manners, Equality Eggs, Equality M&Ms), and field trips (e.g. library, movie theater, swimming pool, Hickory Falls)

Afterschool 21st Century Community Learning Centers offer students a safe, supportive and fun place to grow. 

Homework Help/Tutoring, Interactive/Cooperative Activities, Positive Character Development, Academic Enrichment, Environmental Exploration, Career Development Options, and Fitness/Healthy Lifestyle Activities

Students participate with visiting musicians, artists, local craftsmen, and community partners!

SHINING STARS THERAPEUTIC RIDING & CART DRIVING

Therapeutic Riding (TR)– Our riding programs help children and adults get unique rehabilitative therapy. Special needs students work on physical, social, emotional, & cognitive concepts as they ride horses & receive instruction geared to their individual needs.
45-minute classes are small, relaxed, friendly, and a lot of fun.
Meets once a week per session
$25.00 per class.

Spring TR Classes: March 11- May 10. Rider Registration begins Jan. 1, 2019

Summer TR Classes: June 10- Aug 2. Rider Registration begins April 29, 2019

Fall TR Classes: Sept 11- Nov 15.  Rider Registration begins July 22, 2019

Therapeutic Cart Driving – The Driving Program is open to students of all ages who cannot mount a horse for various reasons, such as size/weight, emotional issues, or wheelchair confinement. Specially-equipped carts have safety features for wheelchair students. For Cart Driving class dates contact Lynn Redden at 585-259-4013.

Open to all ages. 45-minute classes
$25.00 per class.

Animal Clubs
A 4-H animal club is a club that focuses solely on one specific animal instead of projects. Members without animals are still able to participate in an animal club by completing an animal-less project.  Includes: Beef Club, Dairy Beef/Dairy Club, Goat Club, Adams County Horse Club, Poultry Club, Rabbit Club, Sheep Club, Swine Club

CUB SCOUTS, BSA SCOUTS & VENTURING – BATTLEFIELD DISTRICT, NEW BIRTH OF FREEDOM COUNCIL, BSA

Cub Scout Packs, grade K-5

Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family.  In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

BSA Scouts, youth 11-17

Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout. NOTE: Beginning in February 2019, this program is transitioning to include both young men and young women.

Venturing – Co-ed 14-20

Explore passions, make friends, discover the world. You’re always looking for an adventure. Rappelling a cliff. Perfecting your shot. Designing a robot. Kayaking into the sunset. Exploring your faith. Volunteering at an animal shelter. The choice is yours!  Venturing is youth-led and youth-inspired. You’ll acquire life skills and gain experiences while having a blast.

SUMMER CAMPS are available for Cubs and BSA Scouts.  Financial assistance available.
